Not sure where to start? This class will teach you about the different boat styles and
introduce you to the equipment and techniques used in river
running. You will demo inflatable kayaks, paddle rafts,
oar rafts, catarafts, and inflatable canoes.
Whitewater Instruction Level II - (Inflatable kayak
introduction and rescue)
Paddle instruction for one person inflatable kayak.
River terminology and potential hazards will be the
focal point. Basic paddle technique, self rescue, assisted rescue,
river swimming skills, communication, and rescue equipment
will be demonstrated and practiced. Will paddle on Class II water.
Whitewater Instruction Level III - (Swift
water rescue awareness)
This class will teach recognition and avoidance of common river hazards,
execution of self rescue techniques and rescue methods for paddlers in
distress.
